Learning centre

The learning centre is our vision for the future. It is a program in the making, with the central goal of creating a competence centre for ongoing professional education and training of veterinarians, zoo-technicians and other interested professional and lay members of the public. Follow us.

 

The learning centre is designed as an interweaving of various educational programs:

Biology

Centre for permanent education and practical training of biology students: learning about the comparative anatomy of vertebrates, care for the preservation of biodiversity, conservation biology of endangered species together with the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Maribor, practical work in a refuge and a breeding center, help in collecting help from wild animals, tagging animals before returning them to the wild; monitoring of their movement, co-mentoring in postgraduate education and teaching activities.

Veterinary medicine

Centres for permanent education and practical training of students of veterinary medicine: monitoring of the health care of wildlife and exotic animals, care for the well-being of animals; adequate standing, accommodation and nutrition, diagnosis of diseases, treatment, conservation medicine of rare and endangered animal species, diagnosis of poisoning; determining the health of the environment in which animals live, health monitoring of wild animals before returning to nature, learning about the functional anatomy of exotic and wild animals, reproduction of rare and endangered species in captivity, cooperation with similar institutions around the world, exchange of genetic material and co-mentoring in postgraduate education.

International schools

International schools for students of veterinary medicine and postgraduate education: diseases and health care of owls and birds of prey.

Natural science students

Centres for permanent education and practical training of natural science students: practical work in the refuge and the breeding centre.
